-I can't even begin to list all of the new words Gemma is saying! She pretty much tries to repeat everything we say now and combines two words all of the time, for example: 'auntie's house', 'daddy's car', 'mommy help', etc.
-She has an engineering mind like her daddy. Gemma likes to see how everything works and will spend ages buckling and unbuckling her high chair straps, etc. She gets upset when she can't do it herself, but she also gets upset when we try to help! She continues to be very independent!
-Gemma doesn't have too much fear! She loved climbing up to the high slides and going fast down them while we were in Minnesota, and the faster the rides at Nickelodeon Universe, the better! Gemma has also mastered climbing up into her high chair on her own, usually balancing for a moment on just the footrest. My blood pressure may be up a few points!
-After Gemma got over her tummy bug in Minnesota, she ate like a horse and continues to do so at times. Strawberries are her new favourite, and the animal crackers and mini pizzas from Trader Joe's were her favourites in MN.
-Despite being independent, Gemma also loves to give hugs and kisses and help around the house. When Freya wasn't feeling well when we were in MN, Gemma would pat her on the back. It was so cute!
-Since we got back, Gemma figured out that she could reach the light switch in her room while standing up in her crib. On Sunday evening we watched her switch the light off and on for awhile before Paul went up and moved the crib further down the wall! She's also tried getting a leg up and over the crib. Fingers crossed she stays contained a few more months!
Gemma makes us laugh and brings us so much joy. We are so lucky to be her parents!
A few pics from the month (most of them were already covered in the MN posts):
