On Friday, Gemma was 9 months old! Gemma has gained so much mobility this month, Paul will be so surprised when we get back to Ireland at the end of the month!
At 9 months, Gemma:
-Can get from her tummy or all fours position into sitting by herself and vice versa
-Is much steadier sitting by herself and likes to play in this position
-Is creeping on her tummy FAST and can do about 4-6 movements forward on her hands and knees. It won't be long until she's crawling all the time!
-Has started to try to pull up on some lower items (ie a bouncy seat, the bottom step)
-Due to all this mobility (I think!), plus travelling, getting a cold, separation anxiety, and teething, Gemma's nighttime sleep hasn't been as good as it previously was, but we're slowly getting back on track. She is now consistently down to two naps a day and sometimes falls asleep sitting up and just folds over in half!
-Continues to babble and has added the 'ma' sound to her repertoire! Even though I know it's just babbling, it's great to hear 'mama'
-Occasionally imitates a hand wave and shaking head 'no'
-Gemma has her two bottom teeth now- the right one came through on April 22nd.
-She has taken more of an interest in baby food again and is starting to eat a lot more of it.
-Gemma has had so much fun watching and playing with her cousin, Freya (almost 20 months) and all of her toys! Freya gets down and crawls with Gemma and they chase around and giggle- it is so stinking cute! Some of the toys Gemma likes are soft blocks, stacking cups and bowls, and a pop-up activity center.
-Gemma continues to be a happy, smiley girl! She amazes me every day!
